I can't believe it took me so long to get to watching this show! I actually started watching it back when it first started in '05 but I think I sort of lost interest after about 5 episodes. It wasn't really my type of show at the time and I think it must have conflicted with something else I was watching. Before the age of online viewing and the DVR it was a pain in the butt picking what shows to watch. It's amazing how much that has changed in just eight years. Now I don't know what else was so important that it stopped me from watching Supernatural back then. But I am sort of glad that I didn't get into it before now because sometimes it's really nice to find a new show to love where you can devour 7 seasons in a matter of months rather than years. I definitely love that instant gratification. I am on season 4 now and still have a ways to go but I really love it so far. But I'm still a bit worried, a lot of shows tend to lose what made them great after being on for a long time so I am hoping that is not going to happen here. Plenty of people seem to still be obsessed in the 8th season. I hope that means it's still got a good story to tell and it's continuing popularity isn't just due to girls who continue watching purely so they can drool over Jensen, Jared, and Misha. Not that that is a bad thing of course, but I really need this show to keep being good!

Again, I edited another boatload of items for this set feel free to use as always!

I've realized lately I have some new people to add to my girl crush challenge as well as my male eye candy challenge. I finished those over a year ago and I have so many more people I have discovered since that must be added to the list!

Jennifer Lawrence is awesome. Need I explain why?

I've been meaning to make this set for a while. I just started thinking about it again when it was on TV the other day. I really thought this should have won the Oscar last year. It's such a great uplifting film that gives out a very positive message. That is, if only you have the courage to speak out then you can change the world.

It's dangerous what the three protagonists in this story set out to do. But in the end they do it because somebody has to have the guts to try or nothing will ever get better. It also shows that most of the injustices in this world are created by a select few people and that the rest just tend to play along because they want to fit in. If we could all just stand up the Hilly Holbrooks of the world instead of conforming to their flawed world views in order to be popular then the world would be a better place.

I also love the relationship between Minny and Celia. I just will never understand why The Artist won over this one. It was the best film of 2011.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!
I was all into the Christmas season earlier this month but was then completely derailed by the Sandy Hook shooting. It really did make me feel sad and very uninspired. My sister told me something that my nephew, William, said today that I think is fitting. His father is on a long deployment right now. It is the first time he hasn't been home for Christmas. The two of them have become so much closer than they ever have been in the last year and Will misses his father terribly. He got a good haul of presents this year but he didn't seem too excited. His mother asked him what was wrong? "Didn't you get everything you wanted this year?" His reply at 8 years old was this: "Christmas isn't about presents Mom, it's about love. And our love isn't here right now." Wise words for one so young. I was feeling a bit down when yet again I didn't get the one thing I have really wanted for Christmas for a number of years now. And then I remembered there are parents in Connecticut who will never get that one thing back that would make them happiest of all. Their child. I was about to get all bent out of shape about an SLR camera. I still want a camera, but I'm not going to sit and brood over such trivial things when so many people in this world would gladly trade my problems for their own much bigger ones.

I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and if you didn't get what you were looking for this year I ask you to just think about everything that you already had and just be glad that you still have it. Because a lot of people have lost very important things this year.

Why?
My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the tragic shooting in Connecticut.

I just can't believe anyone would have the capacity to do such a thing. I can't understand why this is happening so much. What is wrong with the world? I was just getting over the initial complete shock of this new shooting and then I found out that this also happened today:

My thoughts and prayers go out those affected in China as well.

I just have no words. None.
